Rogues are overpowered!
No, they are not.
If you have problem defeating rogues you can check the advice and hints below to increase your success. Keep in mind that some classes just are very weak against a rogue; nevertheless you can still kill them with skill and luck.
Remember that being two-shot by a rogue doesn’t mean the class is overpowered. A mage, warrior or shaman can, with full tier two (or three), also two/three-shot you. If you and the rogue are wearing comparable gear two shooting you is almost impossible for the rogue. Rogues with green gear are also being two-shot by rogues with loads of epics.
Druid. Do always have faerie on the rogue to avoid restealths and vanish. Whenever the rogue has zero energy try to get out of his melee range with travelform/bearfrom. You can always get rid of crippling poison by switching form. Do the Bash->heal early, before the rogue expects it to avoid him use evasion. If you have the jump on the rogue try some kiting before melee, every health point he lose is good and the DOT from moonfire negates stealth if you haven’t applied faeriefire. You have to out last the rogue, something that’s not very hard to do.
Hunter. Kiting is the way. If you jump him, you’ve almost won. Use your Scatter shot and concussive shot wisely. Use wingclip when he’s in melee range and your insignia to get rid of poison. Use hunter’s mark. If your where jumped, just scatter shot->feign death->trap and move into kiting range. Few rogues know how to stunlock so getting a scatter shot off isn’t impossible.
Mage. You need to polymorph the rogue if you are jumped. The rogue can only use his insignia once per fight so unless the rogue knows what he’s doing polymorph won’t be impossible. Use blink and frost nova early and ice block against blind. Kiting a rogue is easy. FN the sprint and AoE the Vanish.
Paladin. Make yourself last long. I have little experience against Paladins and therefore little advice. But try to use repentance during evasion and use a shield when you see the cold blood animation.
Priest. Use fear as quickly as possible to get the timer rolling. Use SW:P and Mind flay when you fear him. If you get off two fear you win. Insanely easy unless the rogue gets a really good start off on you.
Rogue. Use stunlocks or you will be stunlocked yourself.
Shaman. You must have your anti-poison totem up 24/7 and always try to get out of his melee range when you see an opening. Whenever his energy bar is empty use a healing wave. If you get the jump do some kiting or blast him with a 2k crit chain lightning.
Warlock. Apply all your dots as soon as possible. They can alone wipe out around 50-70% of a rogue’s health depending on your spec/gear. Use fear when he has zero energy and deathcoil when you are in trouble. If he isn’t stunlocking you, you will last longer than he will.
Warrior. When you get the jump you should unleash all your power to wipe out as much of the rogue’s health quickly. Try to be in berserker stance when you haven’t used berserker rage. Use berserker rage before you switch stance. If the rogue tries to kite you, use demoralizing shout to keep him in combat until crippling poison ends or walk backwards to get him into intercept range.
You will always last longer in melee fighting unless you are stunned. Use insignia on KS and Intimidating shout to give you a free second when he fails stunning you.
