Rogues do very well fighting the artificial intelligence alone. We have everything we need, several abilities for thought encounters and some abilities for escaping. We do also have very low down time, our energy is filled in 10 seconds and our health can be fixed with a bandage.   Backstab in PvE.   When you fight a mobile it will always have its face to you, no matter how much you try to run around it, it will turn after you. But how do you get that backstab in then? Well you use gouge, walk around it and a split second before gouge breaks you nail it with a BS. You must have more than 65 energy before you gouge your target or you won't have enough energy to do BS before gouge expires. You can also do a five combo point kidney shot which will give you five or six seconds to hit your target from behind. If you do KS with a full energy bar you can get two BS off, and with thistle tea four. That is A LOT of damage and even more if you crit.     Some more about Gouge.   Gouge isn't just great for doing BS. When you use it you will regenerate almost as much energy as you used, which gives you one very cheap combo point. You can also use it when you have four combo points to get the fifth and regenerate enough energy you need to your finisher and move behind the mob if you want. There is one other great use of this ability; you can stun kite mobiles with it. How? Well you just gouge you target run away and, if you'd like, shot at it with your bow/gun. Then when gouge breaks it runs up to you and you can hit it with SS and/or gouge since the ten seconds timer on it will have finished. Repeat until your enemy falls dead in front of your feet. At five combo points, use KS for more stun and more damage     Stunlock in PvE.   Don’t use stuns too much in PvE. Even though you can stun a mob 90% through the fight, you can kill it faster without all those gouges and KSs.     Stealth.   When you stealth around a mobile it is your level compared to the mob's level that decides how close you can get. If you are higher level than the mobile you will be harder to detect and if you are lower you will be easier to detect. To increase the power of your stealth (harder to detect) you should get the talent Master of Deception. If you are approaching a mobile from behind it won't detect very easy even if you are two levels below it but if you stealth straight in front of its face it will definitely detect you.   Remember to use Distract on mobs that like to walk around. Some times they just turn around when you are following them, making them detect you. Distract can also be used to split up patrolling mobs to get them one on one. Distract one of the patrolling mobs, sap the distracted mob before the distraction ends and see if the other patroller come. If they do, run like hell.
